they're pretty fuckin' great, both Black Foliage and Cubist Castle are fantastic albums. i should probably get around to scrobbling them but i haven't been in the mood for full albums recently . also kinda funny that they're starting to get recognition on /mu/ more often, same happened with Coil

s/t is great, each of the jicks albums' has their own flair (even if they all kinda sound similar) but as he kept going it sounds more like slackery dad-rock and eventually seems to take the beck route and make his stuff more electronic and "experimental" by malkmus means. i really like mirror traffic, but definitely check out each of them if you have the time!

oh nice, that's exciting. i looked into going there awhile back, but decided it would probably be too much for me, esp with the no computers/cell phones (or at least that used to be a rule) thing. the academics are fantastic though, and definitely worth it so good luck! yeah sure, i can think of some recs. have you ever really gotten into Sonic Youth? if not, i think you'd prob like them, Pavement were big SY fans. i'd start with Daydream Nation, then if you like it try Sister or Dirty. you might also like Yo La Tengo if you don't already, and for them i'd start w/ the album I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One

I cant really feel it yet, maybe noise rock isnt for me or maybe it will grow on me, I will see. I dont know any of the Pillows albums, but the Midori album is really nice, dont know World is yours, Modal Soul, but when it comes to japanese triphop I like DJ Okawari more, he also worked with Nujabes a few times as far as I know, Kaleidoscope is an incredible album he made. Do you know about GUIRO? I bought and ripped Album by him recently for /mu/, because only a low quality version existed, it should be in the archives, its some type of downtempo jazz pop. Its simply called Album, its fantastic. He also made music for Katamari I think, so if you like the soundtrack, you will like his album. I listen to much japanese hiphop recently, I have no idea if it is your thing, but I would recommend 幽霊たち by Moe and Ghosts. Moe can change her flow and it sounds so good, it also helps me to improve my japanese, haha.

Long Season was one of the reasons, why I started to browse /mu/. Misclicked /mu/ instead of /m/, saw that it got discussed and then visited /mu/ regulary. I never thought to think about the parts on their own, so now I can rediscover the album again because of you. THE is fantastic, if you like it give AND a try, the band has a new drummer, I liked THE more, but many people like AND more. Its still mathrocky. MotFD is kinda similiar, so you will like tricot. I always wanted to listen to Animal Collective, but never knew where to start, will check both albums out. I actually never listened to The Pillows, also havent watched FLCL, Natsumi already gave me 4 albums I think, because she loves them, I have to check them out. No idea, why I actually skipped them all the time. Looked also at your soundcloud, the stuff you do is pretty enjoyable, do you record yourself while playing guitar? I listened to Vision Creation Newsun for the first time, Natsumi bothered me with it.

Sorry, that I answer so late, its really early in the morning and I have terrible sleeping problems, sorry if I sound a bit incomprehensible, I'm also not a native english speaker. My favorite part is probably 2 or 4, I actually never thought about it and needed to listen to it again. 5 is also really good, I think the album is incredible in general. I love 2 and 4 because of the vocals, they sound so dreamy, I simply drift away. The band I like the most is tricot I think, they actually gave me the desire to search for new music, because they are so good. My taste is in general pretty bad, so I'm sorry if you don't like them. If you haven't listened to them yet, give THE a try. What type of music do you usually enjoy and what is your favorite band? And it's actually pretty cool, that you knew that it was me on /mu/, that was such a nice feeling, haha.

it was beyond describable tbh. it was maybe the best show i've ever been to. he played every track on C&L (though not in order), but changed most of them up a bit and made them slightly age of adz-sounding? more electronic and such. and he ended the first set with this version of blue bucket of gold this was just....ridiculously amazing. it got so loud and crazy at the end that i'm pretty sure it passed the point it could even be categorized as music. but yeah, it was absolutely incredible
